Clothing Requirements

"Plant management shall take all reasonable measures and precautions to ensure ... Wearing outer garments suitable to the operation in a manner that protects against the contamination of food, food contact surfaces, or food packaging materials."CFR 21 - Part 110.10

Washable clothes usually consist of white, buttonless garments. Cotton and polyester blends will withstand frequent hot laundering, yet the fabric is light weight for comfort.

• Buttonless pants prevent loose buttons from falling into product.
• Special shirts reduce potential of foreign objects in food products.
• Lab and lapel coats cover unsanitary clothing, pockets and buttons.

Disposable garments are ideal for transient personnel in the processing area. Use with visitors, or maintenance personnel to cover clothing which has been exposed to areas outside the processing space. Cover ties, pockets and buttons to keep extraneous material from falling into product.

• Lab coats insure visitors comply with GMP requirements.
• Coveralls provide full body coverage.
• Sleeve protectors prevent contamination from sweat and body hair.
